What is your most memorable childhood food memory?
I had jaundice in grade 8 and was
banned from having any meat or spices. Skipping on my favourites was a herculean
task for me. Bland food would have been a monotonous trip for me. But as always
my mom had a solution for me. I loved vada pav so she made mashed (boiled)
potato balls for me. To make it appetizing, she added a pinch of salt and
cilantro which made it drool-worthy

reasons why you consider yourself a Foodie?
I
have an undying passion to explore new cuisines. I take my passion a step
further by trying out to cook the new dishes I have tried. Besides feasting on
the new dishes, I do cook for family and friends at times.
Who has been your foodie
inspiration?
My mom fuelled the foodie-fire in me. With no fancy degree in cooking, she knows the pulse of
conjuring up the most magical, mystical and mouth-watering delicacies for us.
While I cook as per measurements,
Mom uses her innate sense on using just the right proportions of masalas and
spices to create that ‘wow factor’ even in a basic dish. While she spies on me
while trying out a new dish out in the kitchen, she knows exactly what’s being
missed out in the preparation even if she hasn’t tried the dish before.
What’s your favourite comfort food?
Undoubtedly it is Dal.
What’s the strangest dish you’ve ever tried?
I rarely get
adventurous but yes I did try roasted Bats in Vietnam.
If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Any dish of Dal or Steaks.
What kind of oil do you use most of all?
Sunflower Oil
and Olive Oil in case of salads.
Which is the most over-rated food cuisine?
Molecular
Gastronomy. This sub-discipline of food science is a socially artistic trend
but somehow has subdued flavours.
Any quirky food dishes combinations you have invented or love feasting
on?
I can’t think
of Food but definitely a drink. I mixed Appy Fizz with a shot of Strong Black
Coffee and boy did I enjoy it.
Your take on:
Keto diets – Haven’t tried and tested it so not the right person to
comment.
Intermittent fasting – Good Results at present not sure of the long
term impact.
Fusion food cuisine – Fusion food is a success only to the limit if it
does not ruin the original essence of it.

How do you detox your body after an overdose of eating out?
Every morning
I detox by having neem and turmeric powder along with Warm water.
Any health foods you swear by?
Salads and protein
