What is your favourite food memory from childhood?
My Daadi used to make this amazing ‘phirni’. The intention was to have it as dessert post the family dinner ritual. But we (my brother and me), as naughty kids, used to lap up the bowls (kept in the fridge) once we got back from school. On the dinner table, we would be at our cheekiest best and claim that we haven’t tasted the delicacy. Our parents would give in but for sure they knew that we were the culprits.

3 reasons why you consider yourself a Foodie?
Food instantly rejuvenates my mood, it makes me happy. What satiates and tempts me is flavour-loaded food of any kind. Be   it the famous Mumbai street-food vada pav or a 7-course meal at a five-star property, food ticks me more than anything else in the world.

Which are your three favourite cuisine?
Being the eternal, hard-core Punjabi, I can swear by our own cuisine.  I am   also a fan   of Desi Chinese.  Having lived my life in a South Indian dominated locality like Matunga, I love the diversity in their cuisine.  For me, South Indian food is healthy, filling, guilt free and pocket friendly.

What’s your favourite comfort food?
Tiramisu, cheese and of course mushroom tawa pulao.

Do you have a favourite food ingredient?
Garlic.

Which food ingredient do you loathe/think is overrated?
Mayonnaise.

What’s the strangest dish you’ve ever tried?

‘Tinde ki bhaji’ at Punjab Grill, at the Kala Ghoda outlet.  I was a wee-bit sceptical but it was mind blowing.

What’s been your biggest kitchen splurge so far?

I  am  very  finicky about cleanliness so I change my entire storage jars regularly .being a compulsive shopper, I buy kitchen gadgets that come in handy, be it cheese shaver or a knife .I recently purchased a Prestige Iris mixer grinder set since I wanted to concoct new varieties of strawberry milkshake.

Do you indulge in food porn? Actively or passively? What impresses you with food porn?

Food porn has been an addiction to all of us. What impresses me all the time is the cheese pull on a pizza or lasagne.

What kind of oil do you use most of all?

Generally we use sunflower oil. Olive oil is utilised mainly for Italian cuisine.

Which is the most over-rated food cuisine?
I would nominate the Japanese cuisine. I have never been able to understand the craze for vegetarian sushi.

Any quirky food dishes combinations you have invented or love feasting on?
I love experimenting with left-over food and make my own one bowl meals.
