I love to explore new cuisines

What is your favourite food memory from childhood?

Home made fruit custard

Chocolate Mousse

Which are your three favourite cuisine? Why?
1) Thai cuisine for its spices and different ingredients that go with its making.

2) Gujrati cuisine for its balance of sweet and spicy cooking style.
3) Japanese cuisine for its raw ingredients with a combination of different vegetables along with seafood.

Do you have a favourite food ingredient?
Kashmiri garam masala

Which food ingredient do you loathe/think is overrated?

Horse radish.

What’s the strangest dish you’ve ever tried?

Chocolate ice cream with sushi. I feel it’s taking things a bit too far.

What is your favourite fruit and vegetable? And your favourite herb/spice?
My favourite fruit would be Rambutan and Vegetable would be Bitter Gourd.
Favourite herb would be Basil.


If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?


It would be undoubtedly tandoori chicken with tandoor roti.

Have you ever travelled anywhere just/mainly for the food?

Yes of course. I keep travelling to Thailand just for the freshly made food. I just love the Papaya Salad out there.

What’s been your biggest kitchen splurge so far?


Eating dark chocolate with Maggie noodles.
 

Do you indulge in food porn? Actively or passively? What impresses you with food porn?

Yes, I do indulge into food porn quite often. I am fascinated with pictures of Sushi served with wasabi.

What kind of oil do you use most of all?


 I mostly like to use Olive Oil.

Which is the most over-rated food cuisine?

Malaysian cuisine.

Any quirky food dishes combinations you have invented or love feasting on?

I once made Orange Peel Pulav with Cottage Chesse and simply loved the aroma and taste of the same.



Your take on:


Keto diets – It’s overrated as I feel body needs everything in proportion.

Intermittent fasting – The very fact people follow this diet plan makes me more hungry.

Fusion food cuisine – It’s wonderful to experiment and explore food combinations and fusion of the same sometimes nails it.

Which superfoods have impressed you the most?

Peanut butter with brown beard and Bulletproof Coffee.


What are your favourites?

My favourite is anything that is cooked with love and care.
Indian street food – Misal Pav and Kutchi Pav.

Indian dessert – Rabdi with Jalebi.

Hidden gem restaurant of your city (and why)I am from Mumbai and I guess Vada Pav is a hidden gem and it's like a complete quick meal.

Over-rated Indian restaurant in your city (and why)Indigo as the food is average but highly overrated.

The restaurant you keep going back to - Bindaas Begum Rocking Raja, (Runwal Greens, Mulund, Mumbai).

How do you detox your body after an overdose of eating out?


 I simply seal the deal with a freshly brewed hot coffee.

Any health foods you swear by?

Spinach leaves.

Undoubtedly Chef Vikas Khanna

 The Jamie Oliver show.
