Gluten loaded foods to avoid for this Christmas.


Managing a diet completely free from gluten can be a real challenge, especially when it comes to eating out. At this time of year in particular, when social calendars are full, festive meals in restaurants and the homes of friends and family can lead to stress and unfortunate physical symptoms for those with non-coeliac gluten sensitivity.
Gluten can often be found lurking in many pre-prepared and processed foods, sauces and everyday ingredients. Common hidden sources of gluten include:
  • Soy and teriyaki sauce
  • Sausages
  • Condiments such as ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise
  • Broths, stocks and bouillons
  • Ground spices
